Tēnā koutou! Greetings to you all!
Winter is upon us here in Gisborne New Zealand, creating a crisp and chilly atmosphere, ushering us to retreat to the spaces where warmth and comfort invites and envelop.
I welcome you to take a moment to unwind and engage with me today. Allow me to share with you some kōrerō - stories of the recent, the current and the future activities of my world.
Spreading Wings & All Things That Encourage Growth
I have been devoting most of my time towards nurturing my young family. The start of 2017 has introduced transitional shifts of all shapes and sizes within us that have been very challenging. If you can resonate with this, I want to express the importance of sharing stories at times of stormy weather, that rising above challenges is what mould us into the people that we are today.
Be the light ~ love yourself first and the rest will follow.
Wellington Road Trip
Another beautiful promo road trip was had in Wellington with Wā Hine sister Terangi Roimata aka Ariaaariki. The lifestyle of work and family we have created in the humble hidden slice of paradise here in Gisborne is so very special however, I always feel such deep gratitude whenever opportunity arises to venture outside my comfort zone and reconnect and create new connections with like minded humans. We kept this visit short but sweet and private allowing ourselves space to breathe into the light of the reasons why we took the time to gift this trip to ourselves and to our art work.
During our stay, I shared my work in both machine tattoo and traditional hand poke tattoo with some amazing women of Wellington. Revisiting working progress I had begun in previous visits, presented with the challenge of a cover up piece and even more of a challenge to recreate designs of South India! These visits are always like a box of chocolates, I never know what I am going to be offered! I feel so fortunate to have such loving support in a place I can almost call my second home as we visit on the regular and I look forward to many more to come!
